She was a lifetime PTA member, leader, mentor and advocate for children. But if you spent any time in Ruth Johnson's company, you would discover what Ruth cared about most...programs. Ruth always had a list of great ideas for programs that engaged students and parents.

To honor Ruth, the PTA has established the Ruth Johnson Memorial Program Award. Tell us about a program at your school that makes
you proud. It can be small or large. It can involve parents, students or both. It can happen during school or after school or even at home. Submit your program and you may be the recipient of an award this year of $100 to help continue your program or start a new one.

Program Requirements:
  • Serves students
  • Is innovative and creative
  • Is managed or funded by PTA
  • Has a role for parents to be engaged (i.e. movie night, school event, etc.)
  • Is promoted at a time convenient to families
How to apply for the $100 Ruth Johnson Memorial Program Award:
  • Write a description of the program (approximately 250 words)
  • Send up to three artifacts (i.e. flyers, screen shot of website, pictures, what you are doing to promote the event)
Deadline: Friday, April 7, 2017
